Community Health Assessment
This is the first of three prerequisites required before we apply for accreditation through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB).
A Community Health Assessment (CHA) is a systematic examination of the health status indicators for a given population that is used to identify key problems and assets in a community. The information provided by this assessment will help us determine what focus areas we will work on for the next three to five years. Essential ingredients for a successful CHA are community engagement and collaborative participation.
El Dorado County Public Health Division employed a variety of methods to engage the community and our partners in this process including hosting a number of community meetings throughout the county, distributing surveys, and conducting key informant interviews.
